Certification Exam

Certification Exam Pilot

This year, the first certification exam in Israel for Bachelor's degree graduates in Sports Therapy will take place. This is a significant step in our efforts to meet international standards and integrate into the International Arrangement (IA), which sets clear requirements for achieving recognition.

The main objective is to meet international standards so that our education and training are comparable to other associations worldwide. This move represents a major milestone in advancing the status of the Sports Therapy profession—establishing a uniform professional standard in Israel, improving employment opportunities, integrating into official sports and healthcare systems, and facilitating professional mobility (working worldwide). ISRAT, in collaboration with Ono Academic College, is conducting a pilot for 3rd-year students prior to completing their studies and receiving their degree. Additionally, we need graduates who wish to take part in advancing the profession to take the exam as well.

The exam is not mandatory for Bachelor's degree graduates in Sports Therapy who graduated up to 2025. The exam will become mandatory in 2026.

Please note: Starting in 2026, the Association will operate a unified track with no separation between membership and certification—which will be granted solely upon passing the exam.

  • Is the exam related to the Ministry of Health? What will happen in the future?

  • No. The exam and certifications belong to the ISRAT Association. Conducting a certification exam to obtain CAT or CSRT credentials is part of promoting one of the Association's main goals: joining the global International Arrangement between Sports Therapy and AT associations. Without a certification exam, we cannot meet the international standard. We are acting on several fronts to advance the Sports Therapy profession in the State of Israel. Our goal is for the State to recognize the Association's certification. However, it is impossible to predict how the advancement of the profession in Israel will be recognized. We will make changes and adjustments in accordance with the requirements of the State and the global association (WFATT).

  • So, will there be more changes?

  • Yes. We operate in accordance with the requirements and pace of progress set by the WFATT and the International Arrangement on one hand, and the advancement of the profession in Israel on the other. We will adjust the certification and membership conditions in the Association as needed to meet international standards and achieve recognition for the profession in the State of Israel.
